This article contains the following information:
User Account Creation
User accounts will be created in EdReady when a user clicks to access EdReady from NCEdCloud (more info here).
Important: User accounts cannot be uploaded or created by an Admin: all account creation must happen through the NCEdCloud integration. You will not be able to edit a user's account until it has been created: if you do not see an account for someone ensure that they have clicked the CCRG icon in NCEdCloud.
Editing User Permissions
Any teachers or staff that log in will initially have a role with no permissions. If a user will be working with or monitoring students in the CCRG program, the LEA Admin (or other Administrator with your LEA or school) will need to update their account in EdReady.
Please inform your staff to expect a delay between when their account is first created and when they can access EdReady’s reports to monitor their students. An Admin will need to edit their account to give them the appropriate permissions and student data access.
1. Login to EdReady through NCEdCloud
2. Click the Manage Account button from your EdReady dashboard to access the administrative pages in EdReady.
3. You will land on the Groups tab: click on the Admins tab (all non-students are Admins in EdReady)
4. Click the Edit icon () for the user you want to update
Assign Role
A user's assigned Role will determine their permissions and what they can access in EdReady. It identifies what administrative and editing rights the user has, as well as determining who can access EdReady's reports. Follow the Editing User Permissions steps above to edit the user's account, then:
A. Click on the user's Permissions tab
B. Select their Role from the dropdown menu (more info on roles HERE), then click the Save button.
Assign Subjects (optional)
All CCRG users will default to having access to see reporting and student data for math and English. If someone should only see one subject, you can limit their visibility by completing the following steps. Follow the Editing User Permissions steps above to edit the user's account, then:
I. Click on the user's Groups tab, then click the Edit admin goals button
II. The available goals (subjects) for your LEA will be listed here: click the arrow icon () to expand the goals list
III. Ensure that the checkbox is only selected for the appropriate subject for this user
IV. Click the Save button
Assign School
It is important to verify that each user has the appropriate school(s) assigned. This may be applied automatically through the NCEdCloud integration, but it is important that you double-check that each user has their appropriate school listed. Any user without a school applied may have the ability to see all students in the LEA.
Notes:
- The master list of schools that was imported into EdReady can be found at in the Active LEA (school district) Schools Report at EDDIE (http://apps.schools.nc.gov/eddie). Currently EdReady only displays the School ID.
- If a school is missing from the available list, please submit a support ticket and EdReady staff can add that value for you.
Follow the Editing User Permissions steps above to edit the user's account, then:
a. Click on the user's Categories tab
b. If you don't see a School listed here, click the Assign new category button. Otherwise, click the Edit button () in the School row and skip to Step d.
c. Select School from the dropdown menu, then click the Next button
d. You will see an "Assign a value to category: School" table displayed. Click the Create Value button above the table.
e. A pop-up window will open. Select the School from the dropdown menu, then click the Save button
You will now see the School selection listed. Repeat Steps d & e for any additional schools this user should be assigned.
Use the breadcrumbs at the top of the page to return to this user's list of assigned Categories or to view all Admins.
Assign Sections (optional)
Each user should be assigned to a School (see Assign School section) and can see only math or English students at that school by editing their Subjects assignment (see Assign Subjects section). If a user should only see a subset of the students studying the assigned subjects, you can further limit their visibility by assigning them specific class sections. When sections are assigned, the user will only see students who have the same section value applied to their accounts.
Notes:
Before applying sections to a user's account, you must set up sections for your LEA. You can find more details here: Create Class Sections.
You need to be careful if a user is supporting both math and English students: you likely don't want to assign both "Class: Math" and "Class: English" assignments as they will only see students that match both categories. You can see more details here: Staff Supporting Multiple Subjects (Math and English)
Follow the Editing User Permissions steps above to edit the user's account, then:
a. Click on the user's Categories tab
b. Click the Assign new category button
c. Select Class: Math or Class: English from the dropdown menu, then click the Next button
d. You will see an "Assign a value to category" table displayed. Click the Create Value button above the table.
e. A pop-up window will open. Select the Class from the dropdown menu, then click the Save button
You will now see the School selection listed. Repeat Steps d & e for any additional classes this user should be assigned.
Use the breadcrumbs at the top of the page to return to this user's list of assigned Categories or to view all Admins.
